We first published this blog post 11 years ago in 2012, and it is with great urgency that we again publish words of unity and peace. Reflecting on the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a reminder of what his life stood for to the world.
Dr. King was a great man who simply reminded us of what the forefathers of this nation wrote in the U.S. Constitution. As Dr. King would say, “Somewhere I read…”,
We are thankful and grateful that God blessed us with this great man, who stood like a modern day prophet, even even as he called for Justice, and Equality quoted the prophet Amos: “But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.” Amos 5:24 KJV. It is our prayer that in these days of division, and hatred, that there are more voices that can follow Dr. King’s example.
We can never replace him. But we are compelled by his call to remember, and to follow. And we will follow. We have to continue to articulate Dr. King’s vision of freedom, and to act upon that vision. We have to continue to fight for the equality for all people and cannot let the harsh words and the bitter division of our times distract us.
We have to, “Keep Our Eyes on the Prize”.
We love you
