This morning, I was reminded of our time in Lusaka, Zambia; people on their way to work, students in uniform, people selling charcoal, chickens, tomatoes. The buses are already rolling. Each bus has a name, “Blood of Jesus”, “Psalms and is like a ship on the ocean, full of passengers. Mothers sweeping with handheld brooms, every floor is swept or scrubbed or polished every morning.
Everyday the mothers of the community where we stayed rose up early and prayed together. They bring to mind the Bible story of Hannah, who would go to the temple to pray. God answered Hannah’s prayer.
“Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.” 1 Samuel 1:17 KJV
We know that God answers prayer. On a weekly basis, we join together in prayer for God to open the door of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the hearts of our leaders here in the United States.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians 4:6 NLT
We are inspired by the bustling morning in Lusaka, Zambia, where the community thrives on hard work, early morning devotion, and faith. We are also inspired by the examples of the daily, faithful prayers of the Zambian mothers and the biblical example of Hannah. We see in both, the profound power of answered prayer.
Today, we encourage you to use these examples to replace your anxieties with prayer in your daily life. “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV
We love you,
