The Word is Now – Perfect not Perfect

The Word is Now - Perfect not Perfect
Listen

Hi I’m Rochelle McIntosh, Co-Pastor of HeartVision Church.

When writing the Blogs, I call it sharing my thoughts. The scripture for this blog comes from Philippians 3:12-16 (CEV). “I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So, I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don’t feel I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. I run toward the goal, so I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done. All of us who are mature should think in this same way. And if any of you think differently, God will make it clear to you. But we must keep going in the direction that we are now headed.”

My friends, the Word is now! We are not supposed to hold on to the past but press forward toward the future. As Christians, we have to have a goal in mind, and that goal is heaven! Apostle Paul said, I run toward the goal, let me hear you say, I run, I run, I run, toward the goal! That goal is heaven and We’re going meet up there? To forever be with our Lord.

But like Paul, we must first forget what is behind us, stop being stuck in the past. Last year we did this, 20 years of a broken heart has kept you down, what somebody said 10 years ago has stopped you from achieving life’s steps. I’m not talking about being perfect. Paul was not perfect. We are not perfect, but because of Jesus we don’t have to be stuck in the past, traveling in reverse, desiring stuff and people who are long gone!

Place your mind on things above, store up treasures in heaven, pick up your faith and run towards heaven. When the Lord spoke through Isaiah to the nation of Israel he said, Isaiah 43:18-19 (CEV). “Forget what happened long ago! Don’t think about the past. I am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it?

How can you see what is before you if your neck is stuck looking backwards? The past is gone. Christians let’s turn our head and see God! The future is before you. The Word is now!

Blessings to you,

Pastors Willie McIntosh III and J. Rochelle McIntosh
