As the Book of Luke describes in  Luke 2:2-18, God came to everyday people (the shepherds) to tell them the Good News that Jesus Christ was born in a manger. Jesus came to deliver us from sin, so that we can live free from sin, fear, and defeat.
 
This is the reason for the Season
