Companionship with Forgiveness

Companionship with Forgiveness
Listen

The Bible teaches us that we will need help along the way.  Ecclesiastes 4:9 (KJV) “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.” This is because we when  we will be faced with difficult tasks, not only will we will need our friends, but most importantly God has promised to be there to help us as well. Matthew 18:20 (KJV) “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” But the key to working together effectively is the gift of forgiveness that God has given to each of us. Each of us is able to receive forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the glue that allows us to work together effectively. Things happen in life. Sometimes we have disagreements, but God has made a way for us to forgive our differences and to move forward. Ephesians 4:32 (NLT) “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

We can’t work our way into forgiveness because with Jesus it has to come from the inside. It comes with a change in your repentant heart. When you accept Jesus into your heart by believing and then receiving forgiveness from Him, you receive the restoration of the Holy Spirit. Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Those difficult disagreements can be worked out with the leading of the Holy Spirit. We call it sanctification. Which is the process of becoming more like Jesus. Once you believe and receive forgiveness, the Holy Spirit lives in you. If you’ve ever wondered where God is, He is always with you!
