We are Casting Out Our Nets

We are Casting Out Our Nets
Listen

We have been through some very challenging personal circumstances lately, but God has healed us. We are thankful for His presence in our lives, and how He is with us and our family even in the toughest of times.

As we look around, we know He will continue what He began in us. Philippians 1:6 (NIV) “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

God has begun a work in us to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Despite our difficulties, we feel like that old song “I feel like going on”

We are encouraged, and we try to use our time wisely to prepare for what is next, but we can’t allow ourselves to slip back into our comfort zone. This is the zone where we feel most at home, just planning and prepping.

Jesus came across the disciples as they were mending their nets, told them to take action Luke 5:4 (NIV) “…Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” We are always reminded that Jesus compared fishing to preaching to preaching the Gospel.  Matthew 4:19 (NIV) “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

This is a very simple and clear definition of the work of the Gospel. In 2008, we started casting our Gospel nets using social media and video. In 2011, we expanded to include our small group, and our Missional Community that included parents and kids from youth football. But our mission was always the same: Share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our motto for this ministry is “Let’s Go! Missional Community”

Now we are casting our nets to people throughout the world. The world needs to hear the Gospel because it is the Gospel that makes us free! John 8:32 (KJV) “and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Looking forward to see where God leads us together!

Here is another great testimony in song: “I’m Excited” by Rev. James Cleveland and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA)
