Years ago, I was watching TV, and they were reporting on the Earthquake that had happened in Haiti. There was a man who had been rescued after miraculously surviving for four weeks trapped under rubble. He was taken to the hospital, and the reporters were talking to the doctor, and they asked if someone could really have been under that rubble for that long.

The doctor said that the man was severely dehydrated, and that if it was true, it was the longest trapped case ever recorded. However, when the man was asked how he survived that long in the rubble, he said that someone in a white coat showed up and gave him some water.

His story parallels our own lives when we find ourselves pinned under the weight of financial woes, career uncertainties, or familial strife and you can’t move, or help yourself, In those moments of helplessness, wouldn’t it be comforting to know that there’s someone who can lift us up?

Consider the comforting words from Isaiah 41:10&13 So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you:

The verses reassure us of Gods’ promises to strengthen, help, and support us. They assure us that even in our darkest times, we are not alone

Jesus is the beacon of hope. His hand is always extended, offering a lifeline to pull you from the difficulties. Will you take His hand today?
