God Delivers Israel

God Delivers Israel
Listen

My friend Mike the DJ shared the classic Wilson Pickett tune “Knock on Wood” with me yesterday. You may remember this song “It’s like Thunder, and Lightning…”. Mike then pointed out that when the classic R&B songs came out, we didn’t realize that we would be listening and enjoying these songs this many years later.

He pointed out that these classic R&B songs were like the “Beethoven” of our time, but we didn’t realize it. How many times has God given us something very valuable and we didn’t realize it?

In our continuing study in the “Story” Bible, we see that the nation of Israel was suffering under the rule of the Pharaoh that “…knew not Joseph.” (Exodus‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬). God heard the prayers of His people and sent someone to deliver them. Did God send a conquering army? No. Did God send a new Pharaoh? No.

God sent His deliverance in the form of a little baby Moses whose mother put him in a basket in the river Nile, and Pharaoh’s daughter found baby Moses and adopted him as her son. ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭2:10‬ (‭NIV) “When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.”

We see that God used miraculous events to deliver Israel. These were events that no one expected or had ever seen before like the plagues, and the Passover. We need to give God room in our lives to do the unexpected. We can do this by trusting Him to lead our lives and to lead our families.

Whatever you are going through, God will fix the situation in a way that only God is capable. Trust God to lead your life, and recognize the miracles only He can provide.

We love you
