Doughnut Kind of Peace

Doughnut Kind of Peace
Listen

Funny thing happened at the local doughnut shop. I was standing there and they were playing the typical Rock and Roll, it was the Journey song “Don’t Stop Believing”.

Then it happened. The radio started playing “Be Still My Soul”. Imagine the scene. Everyone was moving around trying to get their breakfast. And God sends me what I call an “I Love You” moment. I stopped, reflected. I shifted to an attitude of praise.

In the book of Psalms, God describes how creation provides proof of His presence, and provides us with an opportunity to focus on Him. “God makes a huge dome for the sun—a superdome! The morning sun’s a new husband leaping from his honeymoon bed, The day breaking sun an athlete racing to the tape. That’s how God’s Word vaults across the skies from sunrise to sunset, Melting ice, scorching deserts, warming hearts to faith.” Psalms 19:5-6 (MSG)

These are the opportunities that God provides to remind us that He is always there for us, no matter what else is happening, no matter how we get distracted, or how busy we are.

No matter what, God is always there, loving us, and providing for us.

We Need Prayer and Fasting to Confront Evil

The Dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.”
