Do Not Be Shaken

Listen

The book of Proverbs lets us know that the name of the Lord is a fortified or strong tower. Proverbs 18:10-12 (NIV) “The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale. Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.”

Verse 10 of this passage tells us “…the righteous run into it and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10 (NIV). There are many instances in the Word of God where people are distraught. We always find that the Lord is right there with them. Let’s look at David in Psalms 62:5-8 (NIV) “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”

David understood that “God is our refuge.” He said, “Truly he is my rock and my salvation. I will not be shaken.” If you are trying to understand things in your life and around you today; we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, He is willing and waiting to help you. You are not alone because Jesus is always with us. His Holy Spirit is on the inside of every believer. Pray and let the Lord know all about what is in your heart. 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NIV) “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Every day is a new opportunity to lean into the Lord. Let him guide your life through the good times and troubled times. Do not be shaken because God is in control of your life. Do not be shaken because you’re not on this journey alone for “He cares for you.”
