The scripture Psalms 46:10-11, encourages us to pause, be silent, and acknowledge the great power of God. It states, ‘Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.’ The wisdom in this Psalm is a gift – an invitation to let go of our striving and remember the truth: God is exalted in all corners of the earth. We are never alone, for the Lord of hosts and the God of Jacob offers us a steadfast stronghold.
Jeannie Cunnion, in her book “Mom Set Free,” interprets this scripture as God’s gentle reassurance to us. She believes God is saying, ‘ Enough, my dear daughter of trying to be enough. Know that I, not you, am God. And I am good at being God.’ She hears God’s voice telling her she is enough, because He is enough. This reminds her daily that God’s grace is sufficient. Each day brings a new opportunity to remind ourselves of this profound truth: God is enough.
Psalms 46:1 NLT tells us that, “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” How comforting to know that we can pause, be still, and find God in every situation. God is our strength, our sanctuary. Amidst life’s changes and challenges, God remains an unchanging presence
We can find solace in God’s unchanging nature, whether faced with unruly children, financial struggles, global disruptions, and even on our best days. God is enough. He is our strength and refuge, no matter the situation. What a comfort it is to remind ourselves daily of this enduring truth: God is enough.
