God has a plan for your life, and He has been working out His plan for your life for a long time. He wants you to meet His Son, Jesus. He wants you to fall in love with His Son, Jesus. As one songwriter put it “Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me”. This can be true for you as well.
We have been guided in our study of the book of Acts by our study guide: “How to Read the Bible for All it’s Worth” by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart. We see God’s plan for the Gospel, and the spread of the Gospel in six sections or “Panels” of the book of Acts.
The first “Panel” sets the scene for the spread of the Gospel through Greek-speaking Jewish people who were greatly influenced by Greek culture. These Greek-speaking Jewish people became followers of Jesus Christ.
God’s plan, as the book of Acts describes, is to spread the Gospel beyond Jerusalem. That plan includes you and I. To be even more personal, when hard times or big decisions come in my life, I just remember: “God loves me, and God has a plan for my life”.
The Bible is full of prophecy that tells of God’s plan. The Bible also contains the history of how God’s plan unfolded. We are part of this great plan. God is calling us to love Him and trust Him with our lives and everything we value.
Chose to follow Him today. 2 Corinthians 6:2 (NIV) “… I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
