Our Labors are Not in Vain

Our Labors are Not in Vain
Listen

This weekend we will be celebrating Labor Day. Labor Day is a holiday celebrated to honor the Labor movement and the contributions of those men and women who work, develop, and achieve (Source:  Wikipedia article).

Jesus also celebrates and rewards our labor. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV) “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

We know that Jesus rewards our labors. But the labor that Jesus is speaking about is the work of spreading the Gospel. Matthew 9:37 (NIV) “Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

Will you jump into the harvest and spread the Gospel with us?

We Need Prayer and Fasting to Confront Evil

This blog is inspired by my wife Pastor June R. McIntosh, who preached a sermon this weekend to our congregation about “Why Faith?”. In the new year, we are going to examine different aspects of “Why Faith”.This is not a study questioning faith, but seeking to understand it in our lives.

The Dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.”
