Scripture warns us in the very first Psalm, “not to follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.” It tells us to “delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night (Psalm 1:2 NLT).” It is not complicated but we have so many people in the world listening and being deceived by what I can only refer to as wickedness. We hear it daily in all kinds of misinformation. So much of it goes beyond ignorance to a deadly mistruth. Psalms 1:6 said that, “the path of the wicked leads to destruction.”
The Word also tell us that the godly, “are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season (Psalm 1:3 NLT).” It also said that, “the Lord watches over the path of the godly (Psalm 1:6 NLT).” There is a clear distinction between the wicked and the godly. The Story Bible in chapter 8 is entitled A Few Good Men and Women. Study with us as we follow the patterns of disobedience and obedience managed by Godly Judges. Let us learn life’s lessons together.
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.” Psalms 1:1-6 NLT
